Zanjeer (English: Shackles) is an upcoming Indian action film directed and produced by Apoorva Lakhia simultaneously shot into Hindi and Telugu.It is a remake of the Hindi 1973 film of the same name.The film is scheduled to release on May 10, 2013.Director Apoorva Lakhia has signed up Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra for the lead roles.Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the character of Teja.There were reports that Sonu Sood and Arjun Rampal were being considered for the role of Sher Khan. It was also reported that Sanjay Dutt who cast for the role.In September 2012, The Times of India reported that both Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt opted out citing date issues and the makers have finalized Sonu Sood for the role.Bindu's iconic 'Mona Darling' act is now being taken over by Mahi Gill, after talks with actresses Jacqueline Fernandez, Mallika Sherawat and Malaika Arora Khan fell through.Lead actor of the original Zanjeer, Amitabh Bachchan is said to play a guest role in the film. Atul Kulkarni will be seen in a new role in this film.The director planned for a 25-day schedule in Hyderabad from November 14th to December 5, 2012. Priyanka Chopra joined the shooting and this is her first schedule for this film.
