Himmatwala (English: The Brave) is an upcoming Bollywood action romance film directed by Sajid Khan. and jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani.The film features superstar Ajay Devgn opposite Tamannaah in the lead roles[3]. It is an official remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name which itself was a remake of a Telugu film Ooriki Monagadu of 1981. In this film Ajay Devgan will be seen as an action hero. Two more Bollywood superstar Jeetendra and Akshay Kumar will be seen as special appearance in this film. This film is an official remake of the blockbuster Himmatwala ( 1983 Bollywood action drama film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao starring Jeetendra and Sridevi). 1983′s Himmatwala itself was a remake of a Telugu film Ooriki Monagadu of 1981 Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao.The first look poster of Himmatwala was revealed on 8th August 2012. The film is scheduled to release on 29th March 2013. The first promo of the film released online on 24 January and has also been attatched to prints of Race 2. Sponsor Dr Rohan Munjal and director Sajid Khan chose Ajay Devgn as the male protagonist of the film. It was also rumored that Khan was in talks with actresses Jacqueline Fernandez,Katrina Kaif,and Anushka Sharma for the female lead.However, the rumors were denied when Khan approached Tamannaah for the female lead. Also, it was announced that Khan's close friend Akshay Kumar has been roped in for an guest appearance in the film. Himmatwala Shooting has started with mahurat sho.which had been held at 1 PM on 22nd August.The team streamed the mahurat shot live on an internet portal, all the way from the iconic Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. This is the first time for any film in B-town that the audience is involved with the movie right from its first shot. The mahurat Shot had Ajay Devgn delivering the very famous power packed dialogue, 'Na main dilliwala, na mein CBI wala, ek behen ka bhai hu, ek maa ka beta..Himmatwala...' Zarina Wahab and Leena Jumani who play Devgn's mother and sister respectively along with Mahesh Manjrekar were also a part of the scene. Sajid Khan wanted everything to go perfect in the very first take as he is a little superstitious about the mahurat shot and wanted to incorporate it in the film as it is without any edits or retakes. And much to everyone's excitement, everything went off as it was planned as this was the first time that a mahurat Shot was broadcasted live,' revealed a source on the sets. The telecast also had Sajid introducing the audiences to the crew that was present on the sets including producer Vashu Bhagnani, dialogue writers Sajid-Farhad, ace hairstylist Hakim Aalim, costume stylist Naveen Shetty and others. After weeks of speculation around the timeline by which the First Look of Himmatwala would be introduced, D-day has now been confirmed. Sajid Khan has decided to unveil the promo of his film along with Race 2. "To begin with there were talks that Himmatwala promo would come with Son of Sardaar. Later it was also being speculated that the promo would be attached to Khiladi 786. However neither Ajay nor Sajid or anyone else attached to the film made any statement. Later it was almost a given that the film would be introduced with Dabangg 2", says a source. Considering the fact that Ajay and Salman are good friends and latter even made a cameo and a song-n-dance appearance in Son of Sardaar, many truly believed that the two would be associated again for Himmatwala. "However there was no concrete plan formalized around that either", the source continues, "The next big film after Dabangg 2 is Race 2. Hence a joint call was taken that Himmatwala would arrive with a big bang along with Race 2." This also means that instead of a teaser being unveiled and a full-fledged theatrical promo being released later, Himmatwala would arrive full throttle exactly two months before its worldwide release. "A different strategy is being adopted for Himmatwala. Rather than having a segregated promotion, it is going to be a big-bang arrival, something that each of Sajid's earlier films has also boasted of. Ajay is also happy with this approach", the source adds. As per those select few who have had a sneak peak at the promo which is currently in the making, the film is promising to be an out and out Sajid Khan affair with a good dose of action, drama and music in it, hence turning out to be a complete 'masala' affair with a true-blue 80s feel to it.The first promo of the film has been announced to reveal in early January 2013, along with Race 2.
